2000s: Coastal Miami Becomes Little Moscow

According to an ABC News investigative report, Trump and his children participated in “a significant effort [by brokers] to attract [Russian] buyers to Trump properties in Florida, Toronto and New York.”  The Financial Times also reports that throughout the 2000s, Russians bought millions of dollars of Trump-branded real estate.  According to Eli Nektalov of Big International Realty, Inc., Trump is a household name along Sunny Isles Beach, also known as Little Moscow.  “People from the former Soviet Union know Trump because he has many projects in those countries.”
