1999 Trump Fails to Make a Deal Under President Yeltsin

Russia’s first President Boris Yeltsin resigns and his protege’ and chosen successor, Vladimir Putin, a former Soviet KGB Colonel, and then Director of the Russian FSB, the successor to the KGB, became Acting President. Trump, who has been described as by then frustrated by his inability to make a deal in Russia, describes Russia as “out of control” and Yeltsin as “a disaster” during a television interview.
